Diani Turtle original painting
60× 30cm
Oil painting on wide edged linen canvas

When I came home I knew I had to paint some turtles in addition to my gorgeous safari animals.

I love creating these one-of-a-kind Small oil paintings on Linen Canvas.
A great opportunity to have an original work of art with a small original. Looks super on its own or mixed with others from the collection.
I love working in layers, often beginning in watercolour (yes watercolour) on canvas as this is how I work in my sketchbook. Then the the time is right I carry on in oils. Watercolour isn’t soluble in oil and so the underpainting does not get muddy when the oil paint is applied over it. It’s a wonderful way to workwith spontaneity and careful detail all blended together. My unique approach to animal painting, marked by a playful and whimsical touch, adds depth and character to the piece.

Buying art is really personal, and if you’re not sure about closing the right thing, a gift card could be a perfect gift for someone you love. You gift card is valid across my entire site for originals and prints. (Sorry these cards are not valid on other sites to buy my prints elsewhere). It can be a part payment going towards the cost of something more expensive. They are valid for 14 months (so if you buy them before a birthday or Christmas the recipient will still have a full year to find the perfect art work).
