Ziggy is based on the variety of real reference photos that I have from my time on the Masai mara. And obviously the colours are a huge exaggeration but they’ve stemmed from inspiration.

In a very early morning light the zebras white stripes can appear blue, in the lheat of the day, a golden yellowl and miraculously in the evening a pinkish hue eems to cover their white stripes. So this rather bold and colourful painting actually celebrates all of the colours that I can see on a zebra’s white stripe but all of them at the same time, which of course doesn’t happen in the wild.  Ziggy is a lovely bit of fun but also grounded in realism with a nice eccentric palette of colour.

Ziggy will make you smile every time you look at him.

This original painting comes unframed with D rings and hanging cord attached ready to hang.
