I love painting stags. Most of my stags are inspired by trips to the New forest - or from Longleat Safari Park where it's significantly easier to get reference photos! I’m even lucky enough to have some deer that can occasionally be seen at the bottom of our garden though they tend to be much smaller. This stag has been painted using layers of oil on a linen canvas. Flashes of blue and green sit alongside the more naturalistic browns and greys of the stag.
This stag is on a 100 cm x 100 cm canvas.
Unframed with D-rings and cord, ready to hang.
This painting is on a slim-edged canvas which would suit framing too.
Oil paintings aren’t framed under glass, so adding a frame later is easy and inexpensive.
