I love using colour in surprising ways and Apollo is no exception with some many harmonious colours juxtaposed with natural linen for a striking effect.
This piece was especially inspired by previous visits to the the New Forest show, where I exhibit each year. Apollo is inspired one of Ben Atkinson's Action horses. The "wow" of seeing this horse thunder past me lead me to painting him in these exciting colours. He was beautiful.
