I love creating these one-of-a-kind Small oil paintings on Linen Canvas.
I have created a much larger version of this pheasant before, but this is a little one, perfect for smaller spaces or a little room.
A great opportunity to have an original work of art with a small original. Looks super on its own or mixed with others from the collection.
I love working in layers, often beginning in watercolour (yes watercolour) on canvas as this is how I work in my sketchbook. Then the the time is right I carry on in oils. Watercolour isn’t soluble in oil and so the underpainting does not get muddy when the oil paint is applied over it. It’s a wonderful way to workwith spontaneity and careful detail all blended together. My unique approach to animal painting, marked by a playful and whimsical touch, adds depth and character to the piece.
A great way to start your collection, or to treat yourself to something special, even if you’ve run out of wall space.
