I love painting stags. Most of my stags are inspired by trips to the New forest - or from Longleat Safari Park where it's significantly easier to get reference photos! I’m even lucky enough to have some deer that can occasionally be seen at the bottom of our garden though they tend to be much smaller. This stag has been painted using layers of oil on a linen canvas. Flashes of green and coral sit alongside the more naturalistic browns and greys of the stag.
This stag is on a 70cm x 70 cm handmade linen canvas.
Unframed with D-rings and cord, ready to hang.
Oil paintings aren’t framed under glass, so adding a frame later is easy and inexpensive.
