🌸 Confetti Blush: When a Painting Finds Its Home

One of the things I love most about being an artist is seeing where my paintings end up, and how they become part of someone’s life. Recently, my flamingo painting Confetti Blush found its home with Julie, and it feels really special to share her story.

Julie has known me since I was little — one of those lovely village connections where people just keep in touch over the years. Thanks to social media she’s been following my art journey as I moved away from teaching and started painting wildlife full-time. She’s been on my mailing list, has attended Private Views at exhibitions, collected a sketchbook and some of my smaller originals, always keeping an eye out for the right moment to choose a larger piece.

Exciting times.

Time to undo the ribbon and remove the bubble wrap and see the painting for the first time

That moment came recently, after the sad passing of her mum. Her mum loved colour, and Julie wanted to mark her memory in a joyful way. Julie also loves her travels, so when she saw Confetti Blush — a vibrant flamingo painting full of life and energy — it suddenly felt like the perfect choice.

Seeing Julie’s happiness as she unwrapped the painting, tied with ribbons and its certificate of authenticity, was a beautiful reminder of why I do what I do.

A very happy Julie with her painting.

I was absolutely thrilled when Julie messaged me after she had received her painting. She was truly so happy, she posted some photos on Facebook and I asked her if I could include her story on my Blog. She even messaged me, “It’s the most beautiful things I’ve ever bought” and I had a little tear in my eye when I read that. So thank you so much Julie, for taking the plunge and buying your Flamingo, and for letting me share your joy.

Taking Time to Find the Right Artwork

Julie’s story shows that buying original art is not something that has to happen quickly. Many people browse my website, join my mailing list, or follow along on Instagram for years before the right painting calls to them. There’s no pressure, and no rush.

Art is such a personal thing — sometimes it’s instant love, other times it’s a slow journey. And that’s the beauty of it. When the time is right, the right painting will always find you.

You’re Always Welcome to Browse

I keep my website fresh with new wildlife paintings, sketches, and photographs, so there’s always something new to see. You’re very welcome to drop by, take a look around, and simply enjoy the colour and creativity — even if you’re not ready to buy.

And when the time is right, whether it’s tomorrow or years from now, the right painting will be waiting for you.
