This one, whilst reminiscent of many beautiful coastal places around the UK, is inspired by times on the beach in Dorset. Near to the beach where we played as kids, was a lovely old fashioned house, and in its front garden was an absolutely picture of a cottage garden with fox gloves and sea thistles and every rose imaginable. I thought the view from inside that garden must have been the most beautiful in the world with flowers in the foreground a sea and the headland in the distance.
I think of the myriad of people who have sat on a bench, not far from that cottage garden and so named the piece ” The shore we shared”
