These two paintings deigned to be together are inspired by a moment on safari in the Maasai mara. A lion (Logol from the marsh pride) was lazing in the shade, but a soon as Reba (one of the highest ranking lionesses) walked towards him he sat up and watched her. It was such quiet but powerful moment that I just had to capture it on canvas.
Both of these paintings are subtle and have a lots of space on the linen canvas showing though. I love exploring how tiny elements of detail are balanced with space. They are such calming pair.
Both original paintings comes unframed with D rings and hanging cord attached ready to hang.
