I love working in layers, sometimes beginning in watercolour (yes watercolour) on canvas as this is how I work in my sketchbook. Then the the time is right I carry on in oils. Watercolour isn’t soluble in oil and so the underpainting does not get muddy when the oil paint is applied over it. Its a wonderful way to workwith spontaneity and careful detail all blended together. My unique approach to animal painting, marked by a playful and whimsical touch, adds depth and character to the piece.
A great way to start your collection, or to treat yourself to something special, even if you’ve run out of wall space.
