Wild World: New Art Exhibition at Fisherton Mill, Salisbury

🐘 A Wild Start!

Last night, Wild World officially opened at Fisherton Mill in Salisbury, and what a brilliant evening it was! After weeks of preparation, framing, varnishing, and hanging, the doors finally opened and the gallery came alive with colour, conversation and clinking glasses.

It was a joy to see so many familiar faces — and to meet new visitors who’d come along to see the collection for the first time. I’m thrilled to say that three of the smaller paintings found new homes on the night, along with several prints. (Always a lovely feeling to know the work will soon be hanging in someone’s home.)

About the Exhibition

Wild World brings together everything I love to paint — animals, landscapes, and colour. You’ll still find the African wildlife that many of you know me for, but this time there are also Highland cows, stags, hares, and floral landscapes inspired by Wiltshire fields, the New Forest and the Dorset coast.

It’s my most varied exhibition yet, celebrating both the beauty on our doorstep and the adventures that take me further afield. Each piece began in my sketchbooks, then grew into expressive oil paintings that combine fine detail with bold, painterly brushstrokes.

Fisherton Mill is one of Salisbury’s most welcoming creative spaces, with a wonderful café and artist studios to explore, so it makes for a perfect day out. And as visitors to the Private view will attest, the food whether sweet or savoury is absolutely incredible.

Whether you’re a local art lover, visiting Salisbury for the weekend, or simply looking for something inspiring to do, come and see Wild World in person. You’ll find wildlife paintings, colourful landscapes, and plenty of joyful energy on the walls.
